After completing a degree in Business, I worked for 7 years in the corporate world. But after a period of burn-out and frustration, I decided to re-orient myself and dove into the world of food and nutrition.
In 2017 I become a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through the Nutritional Therapy Association. Since 2018 I've been working with clients in my online practice, Healthfully Heather, who are struggling with maintaining a healthy relationship with food and digestive discomfort. We work on not only their food choices but their attitude towards food as well as many of the lifestyle factors that can also impair proper digestion (such as stress, sleep, movement, etc.).
It was when researching the link between stress, meditation, and digestion (specifically for irritable bowel syndrome, IBS) that I came upon MBSR and immediately began an 8-week mindfulness course. Subsequently, I became acquainted with Brussels Mindfulness and admired the work that the team was doing in the Brussels community. In September 2021 I came on board and took on the role behind the scenes of operations, administration, and marketing, and have now retired this role to focus on other activities. You may continue to find me leading nutrition-focused workshops and trainings for Brussels Mindfulness from time to time.
