• Feel free to register for our workshops and mindful happy hours where you can experience our teachers live. You can also check out our videos on YouTube or visit our Facebook page for some impressions. Should there be any question that is not answered in any of those, you are welcome to get in touch with us via info@brusselsmindfulness.be.

  • Our courses normally range between 8 and 20 people. In order to guarantee physical distancing, we have currently limited them to 15 participants.

  • If you cannot attend the in-person course, you can join the parallel online course in the same week. All our teachers teach the same programme with the same agenda and therefore switching is very convenient. If you join an online course, you can listen to the recording of the session you missed.

  • Yes, all our locations ventilate their rooms before and after every class, provide disinfectant and ensure at least 1,5 m distance between the participants.

  • To ensure your comfort and safety during our activities, we follow all recommended sanitary guidelines set by the government.

Among others, we take the following health measures for in-person activities:

    • Small groups to allow enough space between participants during all activities
    • Amenities to wash and disinfect your hands regularly
    • Locations are cleaned and ventilated several times a day
    • Possibility for outdoor meditations whenever the weather allows it
    • Use of masks for indoor activities, in accordance with the local requirements
    • Participants are required to stay at home when experiencing symptoms or when in situations that require respecting quarantine measures

Please note that we monitor any change in corona measures and apply them as soon as required by the authorities. This may require us to make changes to our planned events and courses.

    • Should the schooling barometer switch to a different colour code within the duration of a course requiring us to teach online instead of in-person, no refund or rescheduling is possible.
    • Should we be required to cancel any retreat or other type of in-person event, we will do our best to postpone the activity to a new date or provide you with a relevant alternative activity should you prefer this.
  • If you choose an in-person course, you will benefit from a nice location in the centre of Brussels and from the energy of meditating together. Delicious organic teas will be offered at every session. You will receive a book and a syllabus in printed format. You can also join the parallel online session, should you miss a class. The price for this type of course is €397.

If you choose an online format, you can log in from the comfort of your home. You will also benefit from shared energy and group interactions in this live online course. You will receive all material in a digital format (e-book and syllabus). Some people find it relaxing to switch off their video camera while meditating. If you miss a session, you can follow it in the next online course or listen to the recording. The price for this type of course is €297.

  • For the in-person course: You do not need any specific meditation material. We will be meditating on chairs, but you are welcome to bring your own meditation material if you wish to do so. In sessions 2, 3 and 8, we would like you to bring a mat for some lying down practices. Please bring your syllabus and a pen to every session.

For the online course: Please make sure you are in a room where you are not disturbed. We advise you to arrange for a comfortable sitting position and to switch on your camera so the other participants can see you. We would advise you print out the syllabus, so you can use it during the sessions. For sessions 2, 3 and 8 we would like you to arrange for a mat or blanket for some lying down practices.

  • Our courses are given in English. Upon demand, we can also provide courses in French, German and Dutch.

  • Most of our participants are expats or people working in international environments, and some people are Belgian. Generally we have a broad mix of nationalities in our courses. Most of them have very busy agendas. Everyone is welcome to our classes.

  • The effects of mindfulness are backed up by lots of scientific evidence. It is a secular and down to earth approach that can be practiced in any setting. Listen to this video to find out more.

  • There are no "musts" in this course. If you wish to be silent, you do not need to speak up, except when you are in a small group of two or in the beginning, when we ask you to present yourself.

  • In our courses we benefit from the wisdom and sharing in the group. It is important to be aware that mindfulness is not therapy. While people are invited to share and exchange, there is no going back to childhood memories or traumas. Mindfulness is about the experience in the here and now, how habits and patterns (from the past) come into play in today's doing and thinking, and how we can work with them by bringing mindful awareness to it. Therapy is usually precisely about finding the roots, going back to the triggers and finding a way to heal.

In the sharing in the groups we have noticed that people enjoy learning from each other and discovering that they are not alone in their struggles of everyday life. It is also very powerful to meditate in a group setting. See here a video for more explanations.

  • In order to start a mindfulness course, it is important that you are in relatively good physical and mental health. Especially if you are suffering from acute depression or burn-out, we recommend postponing the course until you feel better. If you have professional support from a doctor or psychotherapist, you may wish to consult them first and discuss your ability to participate in the course. Feel free to discuss this with the teacher of your course upon registration.

  • In each session, there will be a meditation which you will be invited to practice in between the sessions as well. If you wish to fully benefit from this training, this practice is the most important part.

Many of the exercises are designed to practice while you are doing the things which you already do on a daily basis, but others will require some time investment. Since many of our participants are very busy people, we recommend starting with shorter meditations of about 10 to 15 minutes a day. For more information, you can watch this video.

  • Unfortunately, we do not provide any refunds, but you can use your credit to switch to a similar course at another date with an administrative fee of €75 until 30 days before the start of the activity. For more information please check our terms and conditions.

  • Several Belgian health insurances provide partial refunds on our courses. We are recognized as an official mindfulness provider and are therefore eligible for these refunds. Should you wish to apply for the refund, please send your filled in form to info@brusselsmindfulness.be at the end of the course, so we can sign it.

  • Once you have registered for the course, you will receive access to our guided meditations. The meditations will remain available to you for lifetime. You are invited to check in from time to time to see the latest meditations we have recorded.

  • All our trainers have followed internationally recognized teacher trainings and have been certified accordingly. They adhere to the ethical guidelines of mindfulness trainers and regularly follow retreats and workshops in their field. They are also covered by insurances should there be any accident during the course. You can find more information about our teachers here.

  • Upon request, we provide a certificate of completion, provided that you have at least attended 6 sessions of the course (resp. 75% of the complete activity).

  • Part of our mission is to support a thriving community of mindfulness practitioners. Therefore, we provide several follow up activities such as the monthly mindfull happy hours, days of nourishment, weekend retreats and positive neuroplasticity training.

If you have followed an 8-week course and have an established meditation practice, you can also apply for the 2-year teacher training course which we organise every two years.
