Advent naturally invites us to pause, turn inward and reflect on what truly matters. This day offers space to slow down, reconnect with yourself and replenish your energy before the busyness of the festive season. Through mindfulness, gentle movement, reflection and connection, we will nourish body, heart and mind.

Rest, restore and reconnect

When was the last time you truly paused?

In the weeks leading up to the festive season, this day offers a natural moment to step back from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with yourself.

Through a series of simple guided practices, you will be invited to move out of doing mode and allow the mind to settle and the body to unwind. The day offers space to reconnect with a deeper sense of calm, clarity and presence.

Especially when life feels full or demanding, taking a day like this can make a meaningful difference.

Benefits of this day - what you can expect

  • Cultivate a deeper sense of calm and inner balance
  • Soften the inner critic and develop a more compassionate inner voice
  • Reconnect with yourself in a supportive group setting
  • Refresh and deepen your mindfulness practice

You will leave feeling more grounded, mentally clearer and more connected with yourself, with simple practices that you can bring into daily life.

“I arrived feeling exhausted and left with a deep sense of calm and clarity.”

The healing power of meditating in a group

Practising together in a group can help you reconnect with meditation and support a more regular practice in daily life.

We will practise a mix of different forms of meditation, mindful walking, and stretching, to bring the mind to rest.

Digital detox and silence

The day will take place mostly in silence, with guidance offered in English.

You are invited to take a digital break by keeping your phone on flight mode or leaving it behind. Please let those close to you know that you will be unavailable during the day, except in an emergency.

The silence creates space for deeper rest and reflection while still allowing you to feel supported by the presence of the group.

For whom?

This day is especially supportive for people who already have some experience with meditation, mindfulness, or yoga and would like to deepen their practice.

You are also welcome if you are simply longing for more peace, calm, and space, and are open to a gentle introduction to these practices.

Because the day takes place mostly in silence and can bring us into deeper contact with ourselves, it is most suitable if you are currently in a relatively stable phase.

If you are new to mindfulness or yoga, or if you are unsure whether this retreat is the right fit for you, please feel free to contact us before registering.

Important information on your mental well-being and silent retreats

While meditation retreats can be very nourishing; they do require sustained meditation practice throughout your time there. This also demands some stability of psychological health and can be triggering for some people.

Have you experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or are your currently struggling with your mental health such as with anxiety, depression, or burnout? If so, a retreat might not be the best option for you at the moment. The teacher might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care and support you need right now.

If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience.

Please fill in the questions in the registration form as open and honestly as possible, this will give us an idea of your current situation. The teacher of the retreat may reach out to you for more information

If you are unsure, or have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly at info@brusselsmindfulness.be.
