I am an experienced mindfulness teacher, trainer and supervisor with more than 35 years of personal mindfulness practice. I trained and certified as an MBSR teacher with the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, under the guidance of Saki Santorelli, Florence Meleo-Meyer, Carolyn West and Judson Brewer. Since then, I have been teaching mindfulness courses, retreats and professional trainings both in Ireland and internationally.
I am a teacher trainer on the Master’s programme in Mindfulness-Based Wellbeing at University College Cork (UCC) and have also contributed to mindfulness teacher training programmes with the Center for Mindfulness in Massachusetts and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I am trained in the supervision of mindfulness teachers and regularly support teachers in developing depth, integrity and embodiment in their teaching. My work also integrates training in Mindful Self-Compassion and trauma-sensitive mindfulness.
Before focusing fully on mindfulness teaching, I spent many years working in community development and organisational change, supporting organisations with strategic planning, conflict resolution and facilitation. This experience continues to inform my approach to teaching mindfulness in a grounded and accessible way.
Mindfulness has been a steady support throughout my life, helping me navigate challenges such as illness, grief and the demands of daily life. I am passionate about creating supportive learning environments where people can deepen their practice, cultivate compassion and bring greater ease and awareness into their lives.
