FAQ on our mindfulness courses
How can I get a first taste/impression of the course to see if it really is for me?
Feel free to register for our free workshops and mindful happy hours where you can experience our teachers live. You can also check out our videos on youtube or visit our Facebook page for some impressions. Should there be any question that is not answered in any of those you are welcome to get directly in touch with us via firstname.lastname@example.org .
How many people will there be on the course?
Our courses normally range between 8 and 20 people. In order to guarantee physical distancing, we have currently limited them to 15 participants.
What if I miss a session?
If you cannot attend the in-person course, you can join the parallel online course in the same week. All our teachers teach the same programme with the same agenda and therefore switching is very convenient. If you join an online course, you can listen to the recording of the session you missed.
Do the locations ensure current health standards?
Yes, all our locations ventilate their rooms before and after every class, provide disinfectant and ensure at least 1,5 m distance between the participants.
What is the difference between an online course and a course with physical presence?
If you choose an in-person course, you will benefit from a nice location in the centre of Brussels and from the energy of meditating together. Delicious organic teas will be offered at every session. You will receive a book and a syllabus in printed format. You can also join the parallel online session, should you miss a class. The price for this type of course is €397.
If you choose an online format, you can log in from the comfort of your home. You will also benefit from the energy and group interactions in this live online course. You will receive all material in a digital format (e-book and syllabus). Some people find it relaxing to switch off their video camera while meditating. If you miss a session you can follow it in the next online course or listen to the recording. The price for this type of course is €297.
What do I need to bring to a course?
For the inperson course: You do not need any specific meditation material. We will be meditating on chairs, but you are welcome to bring your own meditation material if you wish to do so. In sessions 2,3 and 8, we would like you to bring a mat for some lying down practices. Please bring your syllabus to every session and a pen.
For the online course: Please make sure you are in a room where you are not discturbed. We advise you to arrange for a comfortable sitting and switch on your camera so the other participants can see you. We would advise you tprint out the syllabus so you can use it during the sessions. For sessions 2,3 and 8 we would like you to arrange for a mat or blanket for some lying down practices.
What is the course language?
Our courses are given in the English language. Upon demand, we can also provide courses in French, German and Dutch.
What kind of people can I expect in the course?
Most of our participants are expats or people working in international environments, and some people are Belgian. Generally we have a broad mix of nationalities in our courses. Most of them have very busy agendas. Everyone is welcome to our classes.
Is mindfulness something esoteric?
The effects of mindfulness are backed up by lots of scientific evidence. It is a secular and down to earth approach that can be practiced in any setting. Listen to this video to find out more.
Do I need to say something, or can I be silent?
There are no "musts" in this course. If you wish to be silent, you do not need to speak up, except when you are in a small group of two or in the beginning, when we ask you to present yourself.
What’s the difference to group therapy with this course?
In our courses we benefit from the wisdom and sharing in the group. It is important to be aware that mindfulness is not therapy. While people are invited to share and exchange, there is no going back to childhood memories or traumas. Mindfulness is about the experience in the here and now, how habits and patterns (from the past) come into play in today's doing and thinking, and how we can work with them by bringing mindful awareness to it. Therapy is usually precisely about finding the roots, going back to the triggers and finding a way to heal.
In the sharing in the groups we have noticed that people enjoy learning from each other and discovering that they are not alone in their struggles of everyday life. It is also very powerful to meditate in a group setting. See here a video for more explanations.
Can I follow the course while having a depression or burnout?
In order to start a mindfulness course, it is important that you are in relatively good physical and mental health. Especially if you are suffering from acute depression or burn-out, we recommend postponing the course until you feel better. If you have professional support from a doctor or psychotherapist, you may wish to consult them first and discuss your ability to participate in the course. Feel free to discuss this with the teacher of your course upon registration.
Is there a lot of homework to be done?
In each session, there will be a meditation which you will be invited to practice in-between the sessions as well. If you wish to fully benefit from this training, this practice is the most important part.
Many of the exercises are designed to do while you are doing the things which you already do on a daily basis, but others will require some time investment. Since many of our participants are very busy people, we recommend starting with shorter meditations of about 10 to 15 minutes a day. For more information, you can watch this video.
Can I get a refund if I get ill?
Unfortunately, we do not provide any refunds, but you can use your credit to switch to a similar course at another date with an administrative fee of €75 until 30 days before the start of the activity. For more information please check our terms and conditions.
Can I get a refund for your courses from a health insurance?
Several Belgian health insurances provide partial refunds on our courses. We are recognized as an official mindfulness provider and are therefore eligible for these refunds. Should you wish to apply for the refund, please send your filled in form to email@example.com at the end of the course, so we can sign it.
Can I listen to the meditations on your website even if the course has ended?
Once you have registered for the course, you will receive access to our guided meditations. The meditations will remain available to you for lifetime. You are invited to check in from time to time to see the latest meditations we have recorded.

They adhere to the ethical guidelines of mindfulness trainers and regularly follow retreats and workshops in their field. They are also covered by insurances should there be any accident during the course.
