Awaken Your Inner Wisdom with Bodyfulness

on 23 February  from 11.00 to 16.00, including a delicious lunch!

Discover the transformative power of Bodyfulness with certified yoga teacher and Ayurveda therapist Katrien Maes.

In the hustle of modern life, we often overlook the profound wisdom that resides within our bodies, choosing external distractions over internal awareness.

Bodyfulness is a transformative practice rooted in the belief that our bodies hold untapped knowledge, waiting for us to listen. It places the body at the center of our experience, urging us to engage fully with the vessel that carries us through life.

Breathing, sensing, and moving are not just bodily functions; they are pathways to a profound state of awareness and presence.

Sensing, the act of becoming attuned to the myriad sensations coursing through the body, is the first step on this journey. In a world filled with constant distractions, we can easily lose touch with the subtle signals our body sends us—tension in the shoulders, butterflies in the stomach, or the gentle rhythm of the heartbeat. Bodyfulness encourages us to pause, to tune in, and to listen to what your body is telling us. By doing so, we begin to bridge the gap between our inner world and the external environment.

Breathing is another key element of bodyfulness. It serves as a reliable anchor, grounding us in the present moment. Often taken for granted, our breath is a dynamic force that connects us to the rhythm of life. In the practice of bodyfulness, we learn to observe our breath without judgment, recognizing its ebb and flow as a reflection of our inner state. Through mindful breathing, we can calm our minds, release tension, and find solace in the simple act of inhaling and exhaling.

Moving is the third pillar of bodyfulness. Our bodies are designed for motion, yet we often spend our days confined to chairs and screens, neglecting the physicality of our existence. Bodyfulness challenges us to reconnect with the joy of movement, whether it's through gentle stretches, mindful walking, or dynamic exercises. In movement, we rediscover the freedom and vitality that our bodies offer us. It becomes a form of expression, a way to release difficult emotions, and a means to embody our innermost intentions.

Bodyfulness, in essence, is a holistic approach to self-awareness and well-being.

Join us for an immersive journey into bodyfulness where sensory exploration, mindful breathing, and joyful movement will deepen your connection with yourself and the present moment and calm down your nervous system.

Workshop Highlights

  • Sensory Exploration: Immerse yourself in the world of sensory awareness. Through a series of activities, you'll have the opportunity to taste, smell, listen, and touch in ways that awaken your senses to the present moment. We will do this with various elements  in our surroundings and also with some food that has been prepared with love for you in advance.
  • Mindful Breathing: Discover the transformative power of mindful breathing as you ground yourself in the here and now. Breath is the bridge between your inner world and the outer environment, allowing you to achieve a state of profound relaxation and awareness.
  • Joyful Movement: Experience the joy of movement as we engage in gentle stretches, mindful walking, and dynamic exercises. Moving your body becomes a form of expression, a way to release emotions, and a means to embody your deepest intentions.

While meditation and well-being courses, workshops and other in-person events can be very nourishing; they can demand some stability of psychological health and can be triggering for some people.

Have you experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or are your currently struggling with your mental health such as with anxiety, depression, or burnout? If so, it's important for you and the mindfulness trainer to discuss your specific situation as they might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care and support you need right now.

If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience.

Please fill in the questions in the registration form as open and honestly as possible to give us an idea of your current situation. The teacher of the event may reach out to you for more information.

We also ask that if you are feeling ill to consider not attending the class, for the health and safety of the trainer and others in the group.  Listening to your body and taking rest can also be an important act of self-care.

If you are unsure, or have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly at info@brusselsmindfulness.be.
