Day of Nourishment: Beginning anew

A one-day retreat for people who already practice mindfulness or yoga and for anyone looking for some peace and calm. A perfect moment to tune in what matters most for you and realign your priorities in life.

Sunday 21 January, from 10.00 to 16.30.

With mindfulness teacher Lorinda Brinton

A new beginning

Whatever your condition or your experiences in the past months, a new year usually brings along this spark of new beginning, freshness, and energy. You may have noticed in former years, though, that not all new year resolutions can be maintained in long term – probably almost none. Why is that? And how can we find some new clarity and purpose to really form a thread to follow throughout the year?

Certainly, mindfulness teaches us to experience each moment and each day with the same openness and wakefulness, no matter if it is a Sunday, a working day or New Year’s Eve. Our daily life, however, is so tied to the calendar and to routines and rituals, that usually there is a felt difference.

We will use the start of the new year to pause and to reflect on what is truly important and stabilizing. What keeps you going? What brings you energy? Where do you want and need to focus on? What inner qualities will be helpful in your life and in your current state of being?

Recharge from within

Recharge from within

Benefit from a day in stillness and calm where guided mindfulness practices will help your mind to come to rest and tap into the inner calm that can be found within all of us. Gentle movement practices will support you to reset and re-energize your body and mind. This day can be a powerful energy boost, helping you to see more clearly what you need to flourish.

Come and exhale. Discover what it’s like to give yourself the gift of taking care: of your breath, of your body and mind. Be with others and feel the connection during this guided day of mindfulness and nourishment.

Refresh your practice

A day of mindfulness allows you to take a deeper dive, so you can refresh and deepen your practice. This can help you reconnect with meditation and boost your motivation to continue with it on a daily basis. You can also feel the benefit of meditating in a group.

We will practice a mix of different forms of meditation, mindful walking and stretching, to bring your mind to rest and to tune into what really matters to you.

The day will mostly take place in silence, with English instructions given by the teacher. We also encourage you to refrain from using your phone.

Important information on your mental well-being and silent retreats

While meditation retreats can be very nourishing; they do require sustained meditation practice throughout your time there. This also demands some stability of psychological health and can be triggering for some people.

Have you experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or are your currently struggling with your mental health such as with anxiety, depression, or burnout? If so, a retreat might not be the best option for you. The teacher might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care and support you need right now.

If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience.

Please fill in the questions in the registration form as open and honestly as possible, this will give us an idea of your current situation. The teacher of the event may reach out to you for more information

If you are unsure, or have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly at info@brusselsmindfulness.be.
