Special treat for those interested: Ayurvedic massages for deep healing with  Katrien Maes.

Clearing out mental and emotional clutter and toxins

When we think of renewal we often think of rebirth; something old dies and something new is born. Why not use this season of renewal as a reminder to get rid of things that are weighing you down and sapping your energy? Taking some time for a detox from digital devices, alcohol and unhealthy food in order to make space for something new.

Simultaneously with the outer ritual of spring cleaning that often occurs at this time of year we will be doing an internal spring cleaning together. We will have time to think about what we can do to renew ourselves and to better balance our lives. What better time than spring to re-group and re-prioritize, and even re-invent ourselves?

Starting something new

It’s a great time to focus on spring as a time of new beginnings and resolve to do something you’ve always wanted to do but never felt you had the time.  Why not starting  by being kind to yourself and taking a pause?

What does a retreat look like?

Being away from day-to-day demands and all the external chatter means time to reflect, to reconnect with your true self and with nature. When the part of you that wants to be in control and that is afraid of change is dominant, you are cut off from your deeper wisdom and intuition. But if you rest and create space to tap into your creative energy, you can get in touch with what truly matters and what kind of life you would really like to lead.

During the retreat, there will be free time to enjoy walks through the surrounding fields, or simply relax in or around the charming buildings and grounds.

This retreat is a gift to yourself; a promise to honour who you are and to start truly taking care of yourself.

Long-lasting benefits

You will be enjoying the company of like-minded international people. Two trainers will be taking care of your wellbeing - a mindfulness trainer and a cook, so that you can benefit from the perfect combination of mental and physical wellness.

The retreat will be given with English instructions. There will be times during the day where you can share  with others and other times where you will be invited to practice “noble silence” to deepen the learning and reflection.

People have reported that long after the retreat they could still feel the benefits of it, and that this nourishing feeling goes on for quite a while.

Important information on your mental well-being and silent retreats

While meditation retreats can be very nourishing; they do require sustained meditation practice throughout your time there. This also demands some stability of psychological health and can be triggering for some people.

Have you experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or are your currently struggling with your mental health such as with anxiety, depression, or burnout? If so, a retreat might not be the best option for you. The teacher might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care and support you need right now.

If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience.

Please fill in the questions in the registration form as open and honestly as possible, this will give us an idea of your current situation. The teacher of the event may reach out to you for more information

If you are unsure, or have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly at info@brusselsmindfulness.be.
