At the beautiful farm "Het Verblijf" in the Flemish Pajottenland close to Brussels.

Carpooling will be organized until one week before the start of the retreat (Friday 17 April 2020)


Silent retreat "spring renewal"

A weekend retreat that you offer to yourself to reflect on your life, the past year, and what new things you may want to incorporate into your life moving forward. We will use the renewal season of spring to regroup and reprioritize, and even reinvent ourselves, and the lives we find ourselves living.

Join us for a deeply restorative and renewing weekend in the beautiful Flemish Pajottenland. Together we will take time to slow down, unplug, and relax and to reinvent ourselves. Take a break from the stress of technology, work, and politics. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of this unique and beautiful space. Enjoy yoga, guided mindfulness meditation and mindful walking. Delicious organic vegetarian meals will be served for your nourishment. 

Simultaneously with the outer ritual of spring cleaning we will be doing an internal spring cleaning together. We will think about what we can do to renew ourselves and to better balance our lives. What better time than spring to re-group and re-prioritize, and even re-invent ourselves, and the lives we find ourselves living.

Here are some of the things we will be focussing on:

Clearing out mental and emotional clutter.

When we think of renewal we often think of rebirth; something old dies and something new is born. Why not use this season of renewal as a reminder to get rid of things that are weighing you down and sapping your energy? This could mean:

  • Allowing yourself to let go of the past to make room for new things to come into your life.
  • Stopping some unhelpful habits in your life and replacing them by more useful ones.

Starting something new.

  • Focus on spring as a time of new beginnings and resolve to do something you’ve always wanted to do but never felt you had the time.
  • Also, maybe it’s time to begin taking care of yourself? This could be the moment to invite mindfulness into your life (again). A daily practice affords you a “time-out” from your everyday routine. This is a gift to yourself; a promise to honor who you are. This retreat will help you set the first steps in this direction.


What does a retreat look like?

Being away from day-to-day demands and all the external chatter means time to reflect, to reconnect with your true self and with nature. When the part of you that wants to be in control and that is afraid of change is dominant, you are cut off from your deeper wisdom and intuition. But if you rest and create space to tap into your creative energy, you can get in touch with what truly matters and what kind of life you would really like to lead.

During the retreat, there will be free time to enjoy walks through the surrounding fields, or simply relax in or around the charming farm.

You will be enjoying the company of like-minded international people.

People have reported that long after the retreat they could still feel the benefits of it, and that this nourishing feeling goes on for quite a while.

The retreat will be given with English instructions. This will be a silent retreat.

Please note: This retreat qualifies as a two night silent retreat for the teacher training (starting fall 2021).

The venue

The retreat will take place in "Het Verblijf", a former farm in the peaceful Flemish Pajottenland with sheep and cows around.

The location is a haven of peace and calm. The hosts, Inge and Hugo are yogis and prepare the food with lots of love and care. The food is very tasty, organic and homemade. Tea, coffee, fruit and snacks are available throughout the retreat.

The rooms are spacious, eco-friendly, and very comfortable with private bathrooms.

The beautiful location with its cosy living room, library, the courtyard and the meditation hall are for exclusive use for the participants of the retreat.

Around the farm there are many beautiful walks through the fields.

This is an indicative programme, the actual timing might change (except starting and end times). The final programme will be displayed at the location.

The teacher

Beate Trück

Beate Trück is founder and teacher at Brussels Mindfulness. She is an experienced mindfulness teacher, trained for MBSR and Positive Neuroplasticity at Arbor-Seminare in Germany, and has given many retreats to an international audience over the past years. Participants like her warm and inclusive style and some of them come back to her retreats regularly.


Extra: massages available


Jan Bosschem, physio and massage therapist, will offer relaxing massages with oil  (body and head) during this retreat at an additional cost of 70€. These massages offer a wonderful opportunity to deepen your relaxation and get more in touch with your body. 

Once you have registered, in the weeks before the retreat, you will receive more information about how to book a specific slot. You need to book the massages beforehand in order to guarantee your slot.



For the retreat of 2 nights with meals and accommodation in a shared twin room:

As from 23 March 2020: 455€

Registrations will close on Wednesday 22 April 2020 or whenever the retreat is fully booked.

This retreat will offer vegetarian meals. Please note that we cannot cater for any other diets or allergies except of lactose and gluten free meals. Should you follow another diet or have any other allergy or intolerance please bring your own food. In such cases, no partial refund can be granted.
